Hello all.
I need to tell you this. One thing I really enjoy doing is volunteering at my church. The reason is because it's nice to give support to a place devoted to the glory of God. What I do is, I fold all the weekly bulletins, just to get them ready for the Sunday service. Also, I phone a bunch of people from time to time to let them know about upcoming events. I find that it's great to do telephone contact because when it comes to mailing letters, stamps are very expensive. Truthfully, being a church volunteer is a great thing. Do any of you do that at all?
Jamie
Back when we went to church, I did. I volunteered with the hospitality minestry and VBS with the Children's program.
My friend Jacob does a similar thing to you. He really likes it as well.
Hi Jamie:
Actually, I used to play the drums in a church a while back. It was awesome being apart of the worship team!
As far as contacting people is concerned, I have not volunteered in this capacity before.
Take care,
Nathan.
Actually I have with The Chick, for the things she was involved in. I am perfectly content to help carry boxes or wash dishes and all of that at a relief effort they call outreach for the homeless or something. I definitely can take a rain check on pencil pusher duty though. And management duty for that matter.
I have many times in vacation bible school and children's ministry stuff. Love it.
yep, was a just greeter for a while, stood at the outside doors shaking hands with all the folks that came through my door, and said hi and welcome them. hahahaha! I even stayed extra long on those days to say hey and welcome the tardy church goers. Then I was an usher as well as a greeter for a while. standing at the inside doors once a month saying hi and passing out program bulletins. and at offering time, I would pass around the offering bag. you know go from isle to isle getting it from one row and giving it to the first person in the next. It was fun. then I think the ushering stopped somehow, and later stopped being a greeter too.
